Boys Basketball Hosting Syracuse Legend Lawrence Moten December 13
The Westmoreland Boys Basketball program is hosting Syracuse University Basketball legend Lawrence Moten when it takes on rival Oriskany in the annual “Battle of Cider Street” on December 13 at Westmoreland Jr./Sr. High School.

With Help of Music, Third and Fourth Grade Students Receive History Lesson
Dave Ruch, a professional musician and educator from Buffalo, visited the Upper Elementary School on December 11 to perform several songs for the third and fourth grades. The songs reinforced what students are learning in social studies class.

Mrs. Parzych’s fifth grade class celebrated “Giving Tuesday” on December 3 by visiting Mrs. Downs’ kindergarten class. Students read together and shared snacks.

Social Studies Students Visit with Local Veterans, Bringing History to Life
On November 26, and in celebration of Veterans Day, about 50 of Mrs. Lane’s eighth grade honors, eleventh grade regents and advanced placement U.S. history students went to Brookdale Senior Living in Clinton to visit with more than 20 veterans.

First Grade Play a Thanksgiving Tradition
Every year, Mrs. Bonomo’s first grade class performs a play to share their knowledge about the First Thanksgiving. On November 22 during the school day, Mrs. Bonomo’s class had a dress rehearsal and performed the play for K-2 students in the school cafeteria.
