Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Emily Davis

I am so pleased to be back home in the beautiful town of Westmoreland, NY. I was a graduate of Westmoreland in the early 90's and while I was here enjoyed such activities as band, chorus, drama club, marching band, jazz band, student council, soccer, spanish club,....and ...and...and - ok so I have always enjoyed being involved.
After graduation I majored in Music Education at Grove City College in Grove City, PA and graduated with concentrations in French Horn, Piano, and Voice. My time at Grove City was a busy collection of classes, friends, and lots of extra-curricular activities. All of these experiences lead me to a graduate assistantship at Texas Christian University. While at TCU I was able to not only work with the music education department but serve as the student director for the basketball pep band, assist with drill design and execution with the marching band, and guest conduct the Wind Symphony and Symphony Orchestra.
Following graduation at TCU my husband and I stayed and worked in the Dallas/Fort Worth area for 10+ years. Finally we decided it was time to come home. Now we live here in Westmroeland with our family (Josh, Allison, and the pets) Since returning to NY I have been pleased to work at Poland Central School and now here at Westmoreland. I have also had the joy of serving as a guest conductor for All County High School Chorus in eastern NY...and staying active in our church and my daughter's girl scout troop.
My time spent teaching in Westmoreland, thus far, has been so rewarding. For the past three years I have taught K-7 general music classes, Elementary Chorus, and the Middle School Choirs. We have seen great growth in the size and scope of the choir program. I was able to work with students to form our Select Choir that has begun traveling in the area and representing our school at different events. Our choirs have shared their gift of music with many senior homes in the area as well as on the Polar Express. We have had a great three years.  It is still one of the joys of my life to be involved in things here in Westmoreland.
