Camp 1: The Art of Illusion

Leon

Dates:  July 8 - 11

Times: 9:00am - 12:00pm (except Wednesday 10-3)

Grades: Students Entering Grades 5 - 8 

Details: During this camp students will learn how to create their own "Op Art" Optical Illusion Artwork drawings, a magical universe in a glass ball, and learn from the expert of illusion performance, Leon Etienne. Leon has been seen on TV on America's Got Talent, Penn and Teller, and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.  He will be spending Wednesday (10:00am - 3:00pm) with students teaching them about magic and illusion performance.  Each student will receive their own magic kit!

Camp 2: Maker Camp

Maker Camp

Dates:  July 15 - 18

Times:  9:00am - 12:00pm

Grades: Students Entering Grades 4 - 8

Details: We will be partnering with local "makers" for this summer camp and also having students create their own wooden puzzle to enjoy!

Rebecca Hamm from Periwinkle Pig will join us to teach students how to make their own flower planter. Pastry Chef, Karla Heinrich from Always Sonny Baked Goods will join us to teach students about the art of baking and decorating.  Kelley Waskiewicz from Cottonwood Handmade will join us to teach students about working with environmentally friendly ingredients to create soaps, lotions, bath salts, and other wonderful products. Students will enjoy a trip to Bonomo's Dari Crème to learn about making delicious ice cream and Italian ice.

Camp 3: Sky Quest

Dates:  July 22 - 25

Times: 9:00am - 12:00pm

Grades:  Students Entering Grades 5 - 8

Details: During this camp students will explore and experiment with various types of "sky" related experiences. We will be having a special guest meteorologist coming to work with students on various weather related experiments, the planetarium presenting about space, aviation/rocket experiments related to flight, and other fun "sky themed" activities and crafts!

Camp 4: Canine Carnival

Canine Carnival

Dates:  July 29 - August 1

Times:  9:00am - 12:00pm

Grades:  Students Entering Grades 4 - 8

Details:  Students participating in this camp will be designing and building their own cardboard games that will be used for our family & friends carnival.  This camp will also be giving back to the community.  The students will be learning about the Diamond in the Ruff program that trains shelter dogs to make them more adoptable.  Students will also be going on a field trip to Canine Sports Unlimited on Wednesday to learn about the program, meet with trainers Nathalie Lussier, John Rose, and Laura Yaghy and enjoy a dog training demonstration.  On the final day of camp we will invite our friends and family to come to the carnival to benefit the shelter dogs.
