Librarian of the Year

On May 24, 2023, Allison Livermore was awarded Librarian of the Year for Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES.

The Junior/Senior High School Library Media Specialist, Jim Cichon, said he nominated Mrs. Livermore because of her long list of responsibilities for both the Upper and Primary Schools. She travels between the schools ordering books, handling research projects, and teaching students how to use the libraries. Mr. Cichon described her as the Energizer Bunny. “She keeps going and going and going and is always willing to pitch in when needed.” She’s also involved in the Zone for Imagination, Innovation, and Inspiration (ZI3), family  Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) nights.

In his letter to a committee explaining why Mrs. Livermore should be awarded Librarian of the Year, Mr. Cichon mentions her inability to say “no”. “If the project benefits the library, the teachers, the school district and especially the students she is the first person to say yes, let's do this.”

All school districts in Oneida, Madison and Herkimer counties submitted their nominations. Congratulation Mrs. Livermore, we are so lucky to have you!
