Social Media Training

WESTMORELAND, N.Y.- Westmoreland Central School and Integrated Community Alternatives Network (ICAN) are teaming up to offer workshops on important topics that impact students across the country.

The first workshop will focus on the impacts of social media. Parents will learn ways to support their child and know what to look for when it comes to social media. This session is on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Primary Elementary Cafeteria. Click here to sign up.

The second workshop is designed for students in the Upper Elementary and Jr./Sr. High School. Presenters will educate students on the Impact of Social Media with a focus on the dangers of Social Media. They’ll learn the differences between normal conflict vs. bullying and awareness of their “digital footprint.” During the school day on November 13, 2023, there will be four (4) 40-minute assembly style sessions.

Jeremy Butler, the Chief Innovation Officer for ICAN, is presenting at both workshops. Butler has spent more than 20 years in the behavioral field. He earned a Criminal Justice degree from Syracuse University and he’s the current co-chair of the Mohawk Valley Regional Youth Justice.
