Michaelle M. Adey Charity Basketball game

WESTMORELAND, N.Y.- It was a battle between coaches and players at the Michelle M. Adey Charity Basketball Game on Friday November 16, 2023 at the Westmoreland Jr./Sr. High School Gymnasium.

Dozens of fans showed up wearing their best Bulldog gear to cheer on their favorite team! The high school lobby was filled with more than 20 different raffle baskets. Community members and Westmoreland Central School employees donated Comets baskets, peanut butter themed baskets and baking baskets.

Director of Curriculum, Steve Polera, coached the students, while former Athletics Director and legendary Coach, Michael Adey, made calls for the coaches team. Coaches started the game in the lead, but students quickly made a comeback. The crowd roared as gym teacher and Head Coach for the Westmoreland- Oriskany Football team, Brandon Woods, scored over 20 points for the coaches.

The coaches ended up winning the game 52-44, but the real winner was the Michelle M. Adey Memorial Foundation. Between the raffle baskets, ticket sales and other donations, the community helped raise $1,351.00! All proceeds will go to the foundation.
