The Westmoreland Central School District is excited to welcome Andrew Bowen to the Bulldog family! Andrew joined us in July and will be the Primary and 8th-grade art teacher.
Andrew brings new energy to the Primary and Jr./Sr art classroom in Westmoreland. Westmoreland is his first teaching position. He was previously a substitute teacher at the Cooperstown Central School District. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, Majoring in Art Education, Pre K - 12.
When asked why he chose education, Andrew explained that his previous high school art teacher influenced him. He wants to bring that same passion to the classroom that his own art teacher showed him years ago. As for why Westmoreland, he said the district, “is the same as Cooperstown, small school and always thinking of the future for the students,” and “the community seems welcoming and prioritizes art!”
Outside of the classroom, Andrew enjoys spending time with his friends and family. He enjoys building computers as a hobby and likes music and games. He is always looking to improve both professionally and personally, always looking forward, and always striving to be the best version of himself.
