WESTMORELAND, N.Y.- The Westmoreland Central School District is proud to announce that Aniras Haas, a Junior, has been selected to participate in the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State Treble Chorus.
Aniras earned this prestigious honor based on her outstanding NYSSMA solo performance last spring. The competition for All-State selection is extremely competitive! Last year, more than 700 altos auditioned, with fewer than 100 chosen from across the entire state.
This marks a historic achievement for Westmoreland, as Aniras becomes only the fourth student in district history to earn All-State recognition. She will take part in the NYSSMA Winter Festival and Conference in December where she will performance at the renowned Eastman School of Music auditorium.
“We are extremely proud of Aniras’ accomplishment,” said choir director, Emily Davis. “Her dedication, talent, and hard work have brought great pride to our music program and the entire Bulldog community.”
Congratulations, Aniras!
