WESTMORELAND, N.Y. — Beginning Monday, November 10 and running through Friday, November 21, the Upper Elementary will be collecting canned and dry goods to support The Country Pantry at the Church of the Annunciation in Clark Mills.
This annual food drive is an opportunity for students, staff, and families to make a positive impact on our community during the holiday season. Every contribution, large or small, helps local families in need. In fact, one grocery bag of food can provide as many as 11 meals.
Throughout the two week drive, the district’s goal is to reach 2,000 points or more! Each donated item will earn points toward that goal, based on the chart below:
Item Type | Point Value |
|---|---|
Canned Fruits, Vegetables, or Protein | 4 Points Each |
Cereal, Oatmeal, Pasta | 3 Points Each |
Turkey Gravy, Applesauce | 2 Points Each |
Pasta Sauce, Tomato Sauce, Peanut Butter, Jelly | 1 Point Each |
Any Other Items | 1 Point Each |
Donations can be dropped off in the main lobby, where students will be able to watch the school’s progress on the “Giving-O-Meter.”
If the school reaches the 2,000 point goal, everyone will celebrate with a fun day on Friday, December 19, the day before the holiday break!
Join us in helping fill pantry shelves and hearts this holiday season because together, we can make a real difference for those in need.
