NYSSMA

Aniras Haas has earned a remarkable musical achievement, having been selected from hundreds of high school students across New York State to perform with the NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) Conference All-State Treble Choir. This prestigious honor is awarded only to the most outstanding young musicians in the state and reflects Aniras’ exceptional talent, dedication, and hard work.

Selection for the All-State ensemble is based on students’ scores from the NYSSMA Solo Festival, and Aniras was chosen due to her outstanding performance during her sophomore year. Only the highest-scoring musicians are invited to participate, making this accomplishment especially significant. As a junior, Aniras now joins an elite group of student musicians who will come together from across New York State to rehearse and present a culminating concert in December at Kodak Hall at the Eastman School of Music, one of the most respected music venues in the country.

Aniras’ selection is particularly noteworthy as she is one of only four students in school history to receive this honor. She is an active and dedicated member of several musical ensembles at Westmoreland, including Concert Band and Concert Choir, where she consistently demonstrates leadership, commitment, and a passion for musical excellence. In addition to her school involvement, Aniras studies voice privately with Jane Beck, further refining her skills and musicianship.

This achievement is a testament not only to Aniras’ natural ability, but also to her perseverance, discipline, and love for music. Her success reflects countless hours of practice and a deep commitment to her craft. We are incredibly proud of Aniras and thrilled to see her hard work recognized through this prestigious All-State honor.
