Primary elementary students recently enjoyed a special visit from three local artists who shared their creative careers and inspired students to explore their own artistic talents.
Tim Perputniewicz, a pen and ink artist, shared examples of his detailed illustrations and explained how simple tools can create powerful artwork. Gail Mosher, a watercolor artist, showed students her colorful paintings and discussed how she uses creativity and imagination to bring her ideas to life. Richard Stricker, a birdhouse artist, amazed students with his handcrafted birdhouses and explained how art can also be functional.
Each artist talked about their creative process, what inspires them, and how art plays an important role in their daily lives. Students were excited to ask questions, learn about different types of art, and see how many forms creativity can take.
To encourage students to keep creating, each artist gifted every child with a pencil featuring the message, “All it takes is a pencil.” The message reminded students that creativity can start with something simple and that anyone can be an artist.
All of the artists’ work is currently on display at Artisans Corner in Clinton, giving students and families the opportunity to see more of their inspiring creations.
A heartfelt thank-you goes out to Tim Perputniewicz, Gail Mosher, and Richard Stricker for taking the time to visit, share their talents, and encourage our students to be creative. Their visit left a lasting impression and sparked excitement for art and imagination throughout our school.
