Westmoreland students in grades 3–6 participated in the Biddy Ball basketball program this season, gaining valuable experience and building a strong foundation for future competition.

This year, fifth- and sixth-grade players competed in a league hosted in Clinton, where they faced local schools including two Clinton teams, Hamilton, New Hartford, and Sauquoit. Over the course of the season, the team showed tremendous improvement, growing immensely from the first week of play through the final games.

The program is coached by Westmoreland High School physical education teacher Mrs. Rados, whose leadership and dedication helped players develop basketball fundamentals, teamwork, and confidence. The fifth- and sixth-grade team practiced every Sunday beginning Halloween weekend, allowing for consistent skill development and growth.

In addition, the third- and fourth-grade teams have been participating in-house Biddy Ball sessions held every Sunday at Westmoreland since Thanksgiving weekend. These sessions focus on learning the game, improving individual skills, and building a deeper understanding of basketball. Players continue to learn a great deal each week as they develop both on and off the court.

The Biddy Ball program provides young athletes with an excellent opportunity to prepare for the next level of play while promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and a love for the game.
