TESTA group of students recently attended a Legislative Breakfast at Hart’s Hill Inn, where they had the opportunity to hear from and interact with a variety of local elected officials. The event provided students with valuable insight into the legislative process and the role of government at the local, state, and federal levels.

Among those in attendance was Congressman John Mannion, along with local representatives including Senator Joe Griffo, Assemblyman Brian Miller, and Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon. The officials shared their experiences in public service, discussed current issues, and answered questions from students, encouraging open dialogue and civic engagement.

The Legislative Breakfast offered students a firsthand look at how government officials represent their communities and make decisions that impact citizens. Students were able to engage in meaningful conversations, ask thoughtful questions, and gain a deeper understanding of leadership, advocacy, and public service.

This event was a valuable experience for students, allowing them to connect classroom learning to real-world applications. It was a great opportunity for students to become more informed and involved citizens, and to see the importance of participating in the democratic process.
