Exciting news from Westmoreland Upper Elementary — our Youth Leadership Program is back!
Led by District Wellness Coordinators Mr. Tim Moore and Mr. Vinny Leibel, along with a team of dedicated high school volunteers from the Class of 2027, this program pairs 6th graders with mentors to help them grow into confident, responsible, and engaged members of the community.
The program focuses on three key areas:
Build Connections– Each student is paired with a mentor for a two-year partnership continuing into 7th grade.
Develop Character– Weekly meetings emphasize teamwork, arts, athletics, cooperation, and citizenship.
Boost Confidence– Mentors support students in setting personal goals and building self-esteem.
We are so proud of our high school volunteers and look forward to seeing these meaningful partnerships flourish!
