TEST

Fifth grade students recently completed an engaging research project in their ELA classes focused on inventors and the important contributions they have made to the world. Each student selected an inventor they were interested in learning more about and began researching their life, inventions, and the impact their work has had on society.

As part of the project, students wrote an informative/explanatory essay  that highlighted key details about their chosen inventor. Through their research and writing, students practiced organizing information, citing facts, and clearly explaining how their inventor’s work influenced everyday life.

After completing their essays, students had the opportunity to showcase their creativity by choosing how they wanted to present their research. Presentation options included creating a slideshow, designing a poster board, writing a poem, producing a video, building a diorama, or even creating a talk show-style presentation featuring their inventor.

Students in Mrs. Guy’s class will be presenting their projects to their classmates, sharing the knowledge they gained and the creative ways they chose to display their work. The presentations give students a chance to practice public speaking while learning from one another about a variety of inventors and their innovations.

Projects like this not only strengthen students’ research and writing skills but also encourage creativity, critical thinking, and confidence in presenting their ideas. The fifth graders did a fantastic job exploring history through the lens of invention, and their hard work and creativity are something to be proud of.
