Griffo

Students at Westmoreland Primary School recently welcomed a special guest when Senator Joe Griffo visited to speak with them about careers in politics and how state government works.

During his visit, Senator Griffo talked with students about his role in state government and how decisions made in Albany can impact schools and communities across the region. He explained how the legislative process works and how voting helps leaders make decisions that support school districts and the people they represent.

Students had the opportunity to ask thoughtful questions about government, elections, and what it’s like to work in politics. Senator Griffo took time to answer each question and helped the students better understand how their voices and votes can make a difference in the future.

As part of his visit, he also brought each student a “Get to Know New York State” activity and coloring book. The book shares fun facts, history, and information about New York State, giving students a fun and engaging way to learn more about where they live.

It was a great opportunity for students to learn about government and civic responsibility firsthand. Westmoreland Primary School thanks Senator Griffo for taking the time to visit and spend the morning with our students.
