The Primary Elementary School recently hosted its April Career Assembly, welcoming special guests CJ and Adrian from CNY Game Devs. Their visit provided students with an exciting and informative look into the world of game development, sparking curiosity and creativity among young learners.

During the presentation, CJ and Adrian shared their personal experiences working in the gaming industry and offered students a behind-the-scenes perspective on how video games are created. From the early stages of brainstorming and design to coding, animation, and testing, students gained a deeper understanding of the many steps involved in bringing a game to life.

In addition to exploring the creative side of game development, students also learned about the important role that coding and mathematics play in this career field. CJ and Adrian explained how problem-solving, logical thinking, and technical skills are essential components of building successful games, helping students see real-world applications of what they are learning in the classroom.

The presenters also highlighted the wide variety of careers available within the gaming industry, including programmers, designers, artists, writers, and sound engineers. This broadened students’ awareness of future opportunities and showed that there are many different pathways to being part of game creation.

CNY Game Devs is a community of creators from across Central New York who share a passion for making games and supporting one another in the industry. Their enthusiasm and willingness to engage with students made the assembly both educational and inspiring.

The Primary School extends its sincere thanks to CJ and Adrian for taking the time to visit and share their knowledge.
