On Wednesday, May 20, the Westmoreland Central School District proudly celebrated the accomplishments of students in grades 7-11 during two separate awards ceremonies held throughout the day. The events recognized students for their academic achievements, leadership, citizenship, service, and dedication throughout the school year.
The day began with the 7th and 8th Grade Awards Ceremony, which was held during the school day in the high school auditorium. To ensure families and loved ones could still take part in the celebration, the ceremony was livestreamed and made available online for viewing. Students were recognized for their hard work and commitment both inside and outside of the classroom, and many families tuned in remotely to celebrate alongside them.
Later that evening, the district hosted the 9th-11th Grade Awards Ceremony, welcoming students, families, faculty, and community members together in person to honor the achievements of Westmoreland’s upperclassmen. The evening highlighted a wide range of accomplishments, including academic excellence, leadership, community involvement, and departmental recognition across multiple subject areas.
Throughout both ceremonies, students were acknowledged not only for high academic performance, but also for the character, perseverance, and positive contributions they bring to the school community each day. Teachers, counselors, and administrators shared praise for the recipients and reflected on the growth and dedication demonstrated by students throughout the year.
These ceremonies serve as an important tradition within the district, offering an opportunity to celebrate student success and recognize the efforts that help make Westmoreland a strong and supportive learning community. The district congratulates all award recipients and thanks the families, staff members, and community supporters who continue to encourage and support student achievement.
Families who were unable to attend or watch the livestream of the 7th and 8th grade ceremony live can still access the archived recording through the district website.
