On June 3, Westmoreland Central School District proudly hosted the annual Senior Awards Dinner, recognizing the outstanding achievements of members of the Class of 2026. The evening celebrated students' academic excellence, leadership, service, and future aspirations through the presentation of departmental awards and scholarships.

The event was hosted by Mr. Polera and brought together students, families, faculty, staff, board members, scholarship donors, and community supporters for an evening of recognition and celebration.

Throughout the program, department chairs joined Superintendent Mr. Migliori, Mr. Kulpa and Board of Education member Mrs. Murphy in presenting awards to deserving students. The scholarships and departmental honors reflected the hard work, dedication, and accomplishments of the graduating class throughout their years at Westmoreland.

A highlight of the evening was the announcement of the district's Student of the Year. Congratulations to Samantha Parzych, who received this prestigious honor in recognition of her exceptional achievements and contributions to the school community.

The evening also served as an opportunity to recognize the many individuals and organizations whose generosity makes these awards possible. During his closing remarks, Mr. Migliori spoke about the origins of many of the scholarships and the families who continue to honor the memories of their loved ones through these meaningful gifts. He emphasized the lasting impact these scholarships have on students as they pursue their educational and career goals after graduation.

This year's Senior Awards Dinner program was dedicated to the memory of Mrs. Helen Beer, a beloved member of the Westmoreland community whose impact on the district spanned more than four decades. Mrs. Beer served the district faithfully for over 40 years and remained actively involved in school and community events well into her 90s.

Prior to her passing in 2025, Mrs. Beer served as a proud member of the Westmoreland Alumni Association and was a passionate advocate for supporting students and giving back to the school community. Her dedication to preserving Westmoreland traditions, fostering alumni connections, and creating opportunities for future generations made her a treasured figure throughout the district.

Mrs. Beer will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity, unwavering support of students, and tremendous Westmoreland pride. Dedicating this year's program in her honor was a fitting tribute to a woman whose legacy continues to inspire the entire school community.

Westmoreland would also like to extend a special thank you to the Junior Class for their assistance in preparing and serving the event, helping ensure the evening ran smoothly for students and guests. Appreciation is also extended to everyone who attended the celebration and to the PTO for generously providing dinner for students, families, faculty, and guests.

Congratulations to all of this year's award recipients. Your accomplishments reflect the very best of Westmoreland, and we look forward to seeing all that you will achieve in the years ahead.
