Westmoreland Central School proudly celebrated its sixth grade students during this yearβs Moving Up Ceremony, marking an important milestone as they prepare to transition to the Jr./Sr. High School this September.
Families, faculty, and staff gathered to recognize the accomplishments and growth of the students as they reflected on their elementary school years and looked ahead to the exciting opportunities awaiting them in seventh grade.
The ceremony featured special performances by student musicians, showcasing the talents of the sixth grade band and adding a memorable musical touch to the celebration. Guests also enjoyed a look back at the many memories and milestones from the school year, highlighting the friendships, learning experiences, and accomplishments that made it so special.
Principal Mr. Haskell addressed the students and their families with an inspiring speech, reflecting on the many achievements of the sixth grade class throughout the year. He praised their academic growth, perseverance, leadership, and positive contributions to the school community while encouraging them to continue striving for success as they enter the Jr./Sr. High School.
Each student received a certificate commemorating the completion of their elementary education and recognizing this significant milestone in their academic journey.
Adding a unique perspective to the event, several current seventh grade students served as guest speakers, sharing their experiences and offering words of wisdom to the incoming class. They encouraged the soon-to-be seventh graders to embrace new opportunities, stay involved in school activities, and approach the transition with confidence and enthusiasm.
As the ceremony came to a close, students celebrated with their families and teachers, reflecting on how far they have come and looking forward to the exciting adventures that await them in September.
Westmoreland Central School congratulates all of our sixth grade students on reaching this important milestone. We are proud of everything they have accomplished and look forward to watching them continue to learn, grow, and succeed at the Jr./Sr. High School.
Congratulations, sixth graders, and best of luck in seventh grade!
