Westmorelandβs annual Olympic Day was once again a tremendous success, bringing together students in grades Kindergarten through 6th for a day filled with excitement, friendly competition, and school spirit.
The event began with a spirited opening ceremony as each class proudly marched in displaying their creative class banners. Students, staff, and families gathered to celebrate the tradition, which included welcoming remarks from both elementary principals, a presentation by the Color Guard, and the recitation of the Olympic Oath, emphasizing the values of fairness, respect, and sportsmanship.
Following the ceremony, students participated in a wide variety of athletic challenges and team-building activities throughout the day. Whether running races, competing in relays, or taking part in other fun events, participants demonstrated determination, cooperation, and enthusiasm while cheering on their classmates.
At the conclusion of the competitions, students were recognized for their efforts with ribbons, celebrating not only their performances but also their positive attitudes and participation. The event highlighted the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and encouraging one another while creating lasting memories.
Olympic Day continues to be a cherished tradition at Westmoreland, giving students the opportunity to stay active, build friendships, and celebrate the end of another successful school year.
A special thank you goes out to the teachers, staff members, volunteers, and organizers whose hard work and dedication made the event possible. Their efforts helped create a fun, safe, and memorable experience that students will remember for years to come.
