The Student Council and Team Lead at the Jr./Sr. High School spearheaded a pie drive to benefit some of the less fortunate in our community during the holiday season.

Students in both organizations spent time after school on November 13, 14 and 15 making 50 apple pies. The pies were donated to the Rescue Mission of Utica in time for Thanksgiving.  Students/teachers making pies

“It is always great to see students come together to help others in the Central New York community,” Mr. Darrah, Student Council co-advisor, said. “Student Council and Team Lead, as well as other school service organizations such as National Honor Society and Key Club, are always trying to fulfill the mission of helping others. Although it is only our second year making pies after school, we hope it continues to gain support from students and staff.”

The Rescue Mission of Utica is a faith-based non-profit that was founded in 1890 and serves individuals overcoming homelessness, abuse, addictions and disabilities. The center is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and provides shelter, food, clothing, counseling and other services at no cost.
