Every year, Mrs. Bonomo’s first grade class performs a play for family and friends to share their knowledge about the First Thanksgiving.
On November 19 during the school day, Mrs. Bonomo’s class had a dress rehearsal and performed the play for fellow first grade students at the “First Grade Feast” in the school cafeteria. After the rehearsal, all of the first grade students enjoyed popcorn, cookies, apple sauce and juice. The play was performed for family and friends later in the evening. Songs included, “The Pilgrims Came to America,” “Things I’m Thankful For” and “Dinner Bells.”
Leading up to the play, each student in Mrs. Bonomo’s class learned about the First Thanksgiving, and its many traditions, by reading a non-fiction book about the holiday.
