Students at the Primary Elementary School were treated to another fun visit by an author.

Tamara Cantarano read her book, Mac βN Market β The Farmers Market!, to kindergarten, first grade and second grade students in the school library on February 15. She was accompanied by her husband, Joe, who plays the guitar.
The book is the sixth title in Cantaranoβs The Adventures of Mac the Dog series, in which Mac the Dog goes on many unique explorations. In Mac βN Market β The Farmers Market!, Mac and his friends take a trip to a local farm to see animals and growing vegetables. The story encourages its young readers to support fresh, local produce and to try different vegetables.
According to her biography, Cantarano, of Upstate New York, has been creating silly stories and characters for years with her three boys. She says reading to the very young has amazing power to improve brain development. Her passion to spread this truth is the force behind The Adventures of Mac the Dog series and her visits to schools, libraries and learning centers with her husband.
All of Cantaranoβs books allow children to take a βpicture walkβ to imagine an activity they may not have experienced yet themselves, or recall a fond memory. Mac was inspired by Cantaranoβs youngest sonβs stuffed animal, and she encourages children to draw inspiration from the everyday things in their life and to create their own stories.
