The Westmoreland Music Department hosted the Oneida County Music Educators Association Junior High All-County Festival on Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16, at Westmoreland Jr./Sr. High School.

More than 250 students in seventh, eighth and ninth grade from 15 area schools performed in the festival’s all-county chorus, band and orchestra. A record 22 Westmoreland students performed in the all-county chorus and band.  

The following Westmoreland students performed in the all-county chorus (pictured below):

Hayden Cadrette, Allison Davis, Margaret Edwards, Alessandra Feldman, Julia Hutchins, Nathan Larish, Sophia Larish, Gabriella Moore, Gabriel Morris, Cayden Osborne, Arianna Robinson and Steven Sovare.

The following Westmoreland students performed in the all-county band (pictured above):

Tyler Crumb, Owen Davison, Gavin Haggerty, Katherine Hansson, David Huyck, Justin Jennings, Bailey Metzger, Dakota Saxe, Riley Smith and Cristian Sovare.

Westmo chorus participants The all-county chorus was conducted by Mr. Erich Lascek.

The all-county band was conducted by Mr. John Blickwedehl.

The all-county orchestra was conducted by Dr. Robert Docker.

All three ensembles practiced on Friday and performed a concert on Saturday in the Jr./Sr. High School Gymnasium.

Participants were selected from nearly 600 students who auditioned in January. Auditions were also held at Westmoreland.
