The Varsity Girls Track 4 x 100 Meter Relay team is a Section III champion!
On May 21, the team took first place at the Section III Class C-2 Championships at Waterville Jr./Sr. High School. 
The team, consisting of Danielle Flack (12th grade), Cheyenne Smithson (11th grade), Emily Kernan (12th grade) and Kaylee Bertini (9th grade), finished with a time of 53.71 seconds. The mark is Westmoreland’s fastest in the 4 x 100 Meter Relay since 2010, when Skyler Zawko, Allyson Smith, Kelli Brasie and Alison Brockway clocked in with a time of 53.60 seconds.
Oriskany placed second with a time of 54.74 seconds and Beaver River placed third with a time of 55.01 seconds.
With the win, the Westmoreland Varsity Girls Track 4 x 100 Meter Relay team advances to the Section III State Qualifier Meet scheduled for May 31 at Cicero-North Syracuse High School.
