During halftime of the team’s home game against Hamilton, teachers in attendance were invited to midfield so they could be honored and acknowledged for their efforts to educate our youth and leaders of tomorrow.

“Our soccer team has been named a New York State Scholar Athlete Team for the past two years, and it’s our goal to make it three years in a row,” Gil Palladino, Westmoreland Boys Varsity Soccer coach, said. “The players recognize the value of a good education and know it takes great teachers at all levels to make it happen.”

After two overtime periods, Westmoreland-Oriskany and Hamilton played to a 1-1 draw.

Westmoreland-Oriskany (5-1-1) next plays Poland, on the road, on September 20, at 4:30 p.m.
