Mrs. Notaro’s Art 2 class at the Jr./Sr. High School welcomed a special guest on October 8.
Rayne-Boe Shutler, a professor at Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute (MWPAI) in Utica, spoke to students about the college, along with careers in various types of art, including graphic design, illustration, painting and drawing, photography and ceramics.
“Guest speakers like Ms. Shutler allow students to gain information on their future career endeavors,” Mrs. Notaro said. “Many students also had the chance to speak to Ms. Shutler one-on-one to receive further information and feedback on their portfolios and specific career goals.”
Art 2 is an advanced drawing and painting course consisting of mainly juniors and seniors. The course focuses on college and career portfolio development.
Ms. Shutler visits the course’s students every year.
