veteran addressing crowd at podium

In celebration of Veterans Day, the Primary Elementary School hosted a special program on November 7 to thank local veterans for their service.

Three veterans

The school welcomed and recognized several veterans who reside at Brookdale Senior Living in Clinton, including veterans Michael Collmer (Army/Korean War); Michael Stuttard (Army/Vietnam War); Earl Homes (Army/World War II); Donald Bentley (Army/Korean War); Duane Roberts (Marines/Korean and Vietnam Wars); Thomas Ashmore (Army/Korean War); and William Wiley (Navy/World War II). The school also recognized Valore Spenser (Navy/Active Duty).

The program, held in the school cafeteria and attended by students in grades PK-2, was led by James Nolan, commander of Clark Mills American Legion Post #26 and United States Air Force veteran. Students led everyone in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, were given the opportunity to ask the veterans questions and sang a song.

The Primary Elementary School thanks all veterans for their service to our country!
