Once again this holiday season, Mrs. Bonomo’s first grade class created a “giving tree” to support a good cause.
For a few weeks leading up to Christmas, the class asked fellow students and staff members to bring in socks and hang them on or place them underneath the tree, which was located inside the main entrance of the Primary Elementary School.
According to Mrs. Bonomo, more than 400 pairs of socks were donated and then given to our local Rescue Mission in time for Christmas.
“We do this project every year, collecting a different item and donating to a different recipient each time,” Mrs. Bonomo said. “Last year, we collected hats and mittens for the Country Pantry in Clark Mills.”
Thank you to everyone who donated!
