There were plenty of familiar faces on the hardwood.
Several alums, unafraid of their skills not quite being what they once were, returned for “Alumni Basketball Night” on December 28.
Participants played in three games at the Jr./Sr. High School Gym. A “Lady Bulldogs” game, featuring female alumni, tipped-off at 5:00 p.m. It was followed by a “Bulldogs” game, featuring male alumni who graduated before 2000, and a “21st Century” game, featuring male alumni who graduated between 2006 and 2019.

At the conclusion of the “Lady Bulldogs” game, there was a special recognition ceremony. Mr. John Nelson, former Westmoreland Boys Basketball coach (1958 to 1979), and the 1984-85 Westmoreland Boys Varsity Basketball IVL League Champion team were honored. Tony Albrecht, Charles Felton, Mike Batson, John Trela, Ed Ryan, Steve Cieri and Gary McGregor were also presented with a “2019 Alumni Basketball Honoree” award.
