The Westmoreland Girls Varsity Volleyball team’s section title hopes are still alive!
Westmoreland (9-10) upset Little Falls (13-6) three sets to two in the first round of the 2020 Class C Winter Sectional Championship on February 4. The game was played at Little Falls High School. 
Westmoreland won the first set 25-23 and the second set 26-24. After dropping the third and fourth sets, Westmoreland won the fifth, and deciding set, 25-21.
Lizz Sill led Westmoreland with 10 kills, five digs, six assists and one ace. Samantha Dee and Isabella Ricci had 15 and 12 digs respectively, and M’Kayla Tierney had 12 digs and an impressive eight aces.
Grace Bergeron led Little Falls with 24 kills, four blocks, five digs and three aces.
With the win, Westmoreland will play Dolgeville (14-3) in a Section III Class C quarterfinal match on Friday, February 7. The game is being played at Dolgeville High School and is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
