According to guidelines released by the New York State Education Department on March 30, 2020, school districts must continue to issue employment certificates to qualified applicants during school closures.

While the Westmoreland Central School District is closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, parents/guardians and students should use the following process:  Westmo logo

1.     Download the fillable PDF AT-17 Application for Employment Certificate.

2.     Complete Part I, Part II and Part IV (if necessary) of the application. To sign the application digitially, download the application, save and then open.*

3.     Email the completed application to Anita Herron, Jr./Sr. High School Guidance Department secretary, at aherron@westmorelandschool.org.

4.     An Employment Certificate will be mailed to the applicant’s address. The certificate must be signed by the applicant upon receipt.**

*Evidence of Age and Certificate of Physical Fitness (record of a physical within the last 12 months) will be verified by the school issuing/certificating officer using official school records.

**Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the requirement that a minor sign the Employment Certificate in the presence of the school issuing/certificating officer is temporarily waived.
