The second grade class wrapped up a unit on weaving with a virtual visit by Laureen Whitney on April 29.
During her visit on Google Meet, Whitney talked about the history and many types of weaving and showed off some of her work.
The weaving unit is part of the second grade curriculum. As part of the unit, students also read the book, "Goat in the Rug," discussed the origins of weaving in library class and created a weaving project in art class - - culminating in a successful collaboration.
Whitney’s virtual visit was organized by Mrs. Livermore, school librarian.
