Dear Parents, Staff, Students, and Stakeholders:

It is with great pleasure and excitement that I have become a member of the Westmoreland Community! I am honored to embark upon my role as the Principal of the Westmoreland Upper Elementary School, and I look forward to working with the students, staff and community to further student success.  Westmo logo

I have lived most of my life in the Mohawk Valley region and have never wanted to leave this special area of New York. My own educational experiences have inspired me to become an educator. I graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 2015 and accepted a second-grade teaching position in the Oneida City School District before moving to the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Central School District where I have taught third and fourth grade for the past four years. In 2018, I earned my Master’s degree in Elementary Education. My decision to become an administrator came from a desire to make a positive impact on an entire school, not just my classroom of students.

The students of Westmoreland are the future, and it takes all of us to be actively involved in their education. I encourage you to help our students to meet and exceed the expectations we have set for them. I am very much looking forward to meeting the great families and faculty of the Westmoreland Central School District over the course of the 2020-2021 school year. Just know my door is always open to help support you and focus on what is best for our students. Please continue to be on the lookout for more information regarding the district's plans for the fall and don’t forget that the Upper Elementary Library is open on Tuesdays from 9:00a - 12:00p.

Respectfully,

Trevor Haskell
Upper Elementary School Principal
