Seventh and eighth grade math students are holding a Bottle & Can Drive on Saturday, January 30, from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., in the Jr./Sr. High School parking lot. 
According to math teacher Mr. Mulvihill, students came up with the idea as a way to help those negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. They are spending the week organizing the effort and getting the word out, which will also count as their midterm.
“Students will be giving back to their community while also working as a team and using their math knowledge to optimize profit,” Mr. Mulvihill said. “Students will specifically be exploring the costs associated with doing a bottle and can drive and choosing the best method to create the largest profit.”
All proceeds will be donated to a charity of the students’ choosing.
