368 days.
That’s how much time passed since the Westmoreland Girls Varsity Basketball team last played a game due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The team’s long awaited return to the hardwood got off to a good start.
Westmoreland began its shortened 2020-21 campaign with a 39-20 win against Adirondack, at home, on February 24.
The Lady Bulldogs used a balanced scoring attack, and some tough defense, to take a quick lead - - and then never looked back.
Four players scored at least six points for Westmoreland. Samantha Wilson and Gabrielle Moore each had eight, Alexandra Albrecht had seven and Madalynne Enos chipped in six.
Before the start of the game, Westmoreland celebrated “Senior Night.” Westmoreland’s two seniors - - Alivia Enos and Lauren Murphy - - along with their parents, were honored during a brief ceremony at mid-court.
Congratulations to Alivia and Lauren, and best of luck to the Westmoreland Girls Varsity Basketball team!
