The Upper Elementary School celebrated a Dr. Seuss themed βRead Across America Weekβ March 1-5.
Each day during the week-long celebration, Upper Elementary School Principal Mr. Haskell recorded a read-aloud of a Dr. Seuss book for students in grades 3-6 to enjoy.
Monday, March 1 β βOne Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fishβ
Tuesday, March 2 β βCat in the Hatβ
Wednesday, March 3 β βWacky Wednesdayβ
Thursday, March 4 β βFox in Socksβ
Friday, March 5 β βOh, the Places Youβll Go!β
On March 1, every student received a bag of goldfish to go along with the book, βOne Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.β On March 2-5, students were encouraged to dress up according to the theme of the dayβs book.
βRead Across America Weekβ culminated on March 5 with βDrop Everything and Readβ (DEAR) time. At 9:15 a.m., students dropped everything they were doing and read a book of their choice for 15 minutes.
We hope the reading will continue year-round!
