The Westmoreland Central School District’s Zone for Imagination, Innovation and Inspiration (Zi3) is offering two in-person summer camps for district students this July!

There is a small fee of $10 per child each week to pay for admission fees, virtual tours, materials and supplies. Payment may be made by cash or check on the first day of the camp your child chooses to attend. Please make checks payable to “Westmoreland Central School.”

STEAM Camp
Grades 4-8
Monday, July 12 – Friday, July 16
9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. daily
Upper Elementary School

In partnership with the Utica Zoo, students will choose a zoo animal to learn about and create a new habitat with enrichment experience for that animal. Students will be able to interview zookeepers and visit the zoo as part of their research. On the final day, students will present their habitats to the zookeepers via Zoom and receive feedback.

Maker Camp
Grades 4-8
Monday, July 19 – Friday, July 23
9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. daily
Upper Elementary School

In partnership with the Utica Children’s Museum, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Columbia Museum of Art, as well as local makers/artists, students will enjoy virtual and live lessons that will bring out their creativity! Students will learn about techniques and styles of art and then will create their own art to take home. The final day of camp will include a Gallery Walk, which will showcase student masterpieces! Activities will include acrylic paint pouring, stained glass designing, cement paw prints, and recycled statues.
