After a one-year hiatus, students in grades K-6 were able to cap off the school year by participating in “Olympic Day” on June 22.
The fun tradition, which started more than 40 years ago and was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, kicked off in the morning with an opening ceremony. At the Primary Elementary School, K-2 classes held mini-ceremonies. At the Upper Elementary School, 3-6 classes paraded around the bus circle. The Jr./Sr. High School Chorus also sang the “Star Spangled Banner” and students took the “Olympic Oath.”
Throughout the day, classes in each grade went head-to-head in various track and field events and other games.
Despite cool conditions and an occasional drizzle, fun was had by all!
