I hope you are enjoying your summer vacation with family and friends.
We have been hard at work at the Primary Elementary preparing for our return to school in September. In anticipation of the start of the new school year, I want to invite you to attend our Meet the Teacher events. These events will be hosted for students in kindergarten, first, and second grade. During these times, students will visit their new classroom, meet their teacher, practice getting on and off a bus, and drop off any school supplies they have purchased. While students are with their teacher, I would like to briefly meet with parents and guardians in the cafeteria to introduce myself and provide some important information regarding the upcoming school year. At this time, we will also distribute individual Chromebooks for student use. In addition, Mike Sweeney, director of transportation, will be available to answer any questions regarding bus routes. Bus information is slated to be mailed to you before these dates, so please do not hesitate to bring your information and/or questions with you. Lastly, we will begin taking orders for school-wide Westmoreland shirts. We would love each child to have a shirt to wear on spirit days and other events throughout the year. The cost per shirt is $8.50.
Time slots for the event are scheduled by grade and by teacher to minimize the amount of families in the building at one time and maintain distance, if necessary. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school office at (315) 557-2637.
