Another winning season for the Westmoreland-Oriskany Boys Varsity Soccer team came to a close on October 20.
Westmoreland-Oriskany (11 seed) fell to Westhill (6 seed) 5-2 in the first round of the Section III Class B playoffs. The game was played at Westhill.
Westmoreland-Oriskany trailed 3-0 at halftime, but fought back with two goals in the second half before running out of time.
Seniors Caleb Miller and Johann Bratge scored for Westmoreland-Oriskany. Sophomore Tyler Szarek had an assist and goalkeeper David Cronauer made 11 saves for the Bulldogs. Joshua Dabbiero led Westhill with two goals.
Westmoreland-Oriskany finishes the 2021-22 season with a 10-6 overall record. Westhill (10-4-1) will play Central Valley Academy in the second round of the Section III Class B playoffs on October 22.
Congratulations to Westmoreland-Oriskany on a winning season, especially the team’s nine seniors – Johann Bratge, Tyler Crumb, Jon Dillon, Matthew Doyle, Nathan Larish, Patrick Maher, Caleb Miller, Max Staver and Mark VanDeusen.
