masked students in front of a brightly colored construction paper periodic table of the elements

As a culminating activity, and in collaboration with Mrs. Davis and the Zone for Imagination, Innovation and Inspiration (Zi3), Mr. Perrault’s sixth grade science students created a life-sized Periodic Table of Elements. The special project is on display outside the cafeteria in the Upper Elementary School.

Four students in front of Periodic Table

For the project, each student researched two elements and created a corresponding pizza box. Each pizza box features the abbreviation and atomic number of an element, which were made using the Cricut Cutting Machine in the Zi3. Some of the pizza boxes also feature an object that represents the element depicted.

Students constructed the life-sized Periodic Table of Elements on November 2.
