Unfortunately, the Bulldogs lost a nail biter, 70-69.

Westmoreland trailed 35-24 at halftime, but fought back to tie the game at 51-51 by the end of the third quarter. Both teams traded baskets in the fourth quarter, with Westmoreland coming up short by one point.

Senior forward Matt Doyle led Westmoreland with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Seniors Kyle LaGasse and Josh Suber chipped in 17 and 12 points, respectfully.

Waterville was led by junior guard Tyson Maxam, who had 28 points, 7 assists and 7 steals.

With the loss, Westmoreland – which had several players in quarantine the week prior – fell to 2-4 overall. Waterville improved to 5-2 overall.

Westmoreland hits the road for its next game. The Bulldogs are scheduled to take on the Cooperstown Hawkeyes, in Cooperstown, on December 21.

Congratulations to Westmoreland’s six seniors – Sean Hyde, Kyle LaGasse, Josh Suber, Joe Bulischeck, Jonathan Dillon and Matt Doyle – and best of luck to the entire team the rest of the season!
