Thanks to the efforts of the Upper Elementary School’s Zone for Imagination, Innovation and Inspiration (Zi3) Club, one local organization is better off.
During the month of February, the Zi3 Club held a “Shakes for the Shelter” fundraiser in benefit of Anita’s Stevens-Swan Humane Society in Utica. For the fundraiser, the club sold dozens of handmade decorative shakes for $10.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will sponsor the adoption fees for a cat, Samantha, and a dog, Duncan. Remaining proceeds were used to purchase and donate 120 cans of cat food, 40 pounds of milk bones and two tubs of cat treats to the humane society.
The Zi3 Club’s “Group A” visited Anita’s Stevens-Swan Humane Society on March 1 to deliver the food and treats, as well as meet Samantha, Duncan and other animals.
