Our school provides a free five-day per week preschool program for children living in the district. Open enrollment for Universal Pre-K (UPK) will take place until May 10, and any eligible family may apply. Please note – the State Education Department website clearly defines an eligible child as one who is four (4) years old by December 1, but not five (5) years old by December 1 and therefore eligible for kindergarten.

If there are more applicants than slots available, each application will receive a number. Numbers will then be drawn out of a hat, and the numbers selected will receive a spot in the preschool program. Numbers not selected will be placed on a waiting list in numerical order. Applications received after the open enrollment period will also be placed on the waiting list.

Families will be notified if their child was accepted into the preschool program by mid-July. Open houses will occur in August. Bussing to preschool is available to AM students via the AM elementary bus runs. A parent/guardian must make arrangements to pick up their child at 11:30 a.m. PM students must be dropped off by a parent/guardian at 12:45 p.m. and can take the PM elementary bus runs home.

Applications are available in the Primary Elementary School office or by contacting the UPK Director at (315) 557-2663. Classes are also available for three (3) year olds and four (4) year olds from any school district through Small Blessings Preschool, a non-denominational preschool based in the Primary Elementary School. To receive an application and information on tuition and class times for Small Blessings Preschool, please contact the UPK Director.
