The Westmoreland Varsity Baseball team is still undefeated and now only one win away from a section title!
The 19-0 and No. 1 seeded Bulldogs beat No. 12 seed LaFayette 12-3 in a semifinal Section III Class C playoff game on May 28 at Murnane Stadium in Utica.
Westmoreland raced out to an 8-0 lead after one inning and never looked back. Josh Suber, Caleb Miller and Carson Nestved each had three RBI for the Bulldogs. Miller pitched a complete game, giving up only three hits and striking out five batters to earn the win.
With the win, Westmoreland will play No. 11 Adirondack (11-11) in the Section III Class C championship game on Tuesday, May 31, at Onondaga Community College. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
Westmoreland played and beat Class C rival Adirondack twice during the regular season, 11-0 on April 18 and 11-8 on May 7.
