Allison Davis, Class of 2023, already has an impressive resume and long list of accomplishments in the fine arts.

In early September, Davis learned she was selected to participate in the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Conference All-State Festival in Rochester later this year. Davis, who will be participating in the Mixed Choir, is Westmoreland’s first-ever vocal student to be chosen for the prestigious event.

“We are beyond excited for Allison and this wonderful opportunity she has to represent our school, music department and community,” Mrs. Cutler, Jr./Sr. High School music teacher and band director, said.

More than 6,500 students from across New York State auditioned for the NYSSMA Conference All-State Festival at various solo and ensemble festivals this past spring. Davis was one of just approximately 900 students selected to participate. To learn more about the selection “process,” click here.

The four-day NYSSMA Conference All-State Festival is taking place at the Rochester Convention Center December 1-4. The event culminates with a concert at The Eastman School of Music.

Davis is a member of National Honor Society, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Brass Ensemble, Select Chorus, NYSSMA, Drama Club, Broadway Voices and Tri-M Honor Society. In February 2022, she was the lead role in the Drama Club’s annual musical at the Stanley Theater, playing “Dorothy” in the “Wizard of Oz!” In June 2022, she was named the Westmoreland Kiwanis Student of the Year for the 2021-22 school year.

Davis is the daughter of Jason and Emily Davis; Mrs. Davis is a music teacher at the Jr./Sr. High School. After high school, she plans to attend a four-year college to major in Music Education and minor in Music Theater.

Congratulations, Allison!
