John Acee holding award from the New York State School Boards Association

John Acee, president of the Westmoreland Central School District Board of Education, was honored by the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) in September.

John Acee

Acee received a “Level 4 Board Lifetime Achievement Award” for his participation in NYSSBA’s Recognition Program. The program acknowledges the extensive time and effort required of school board members who continually strive to expand their knowledge and skills for better board governance. The program is comprised of four achievement levels – each reached by accumulating points for completing a variety of NYSSBA trainings, including state-mandated workshops, legal workshops, convention-related events and custom board retreats. The following levels make up the program, with Level 4 being the highest and final level of completion:

Level 1 – Board Achievement Award (75 points)

Level 2 – Board Excellence Award (150 points)

Level 3 – Board Mastery Award (250 points)

Level 4 – Board Lifetime Achievement (500 points)

Acee has served on the Westmoreland Board of Education for 20 years. He was appointed President in 2012.

Congratulations, Mr. Acee, and thank you for your service to our school community!
