While students were off, teachers were in school for Superintendent’s Conference Day on October 7.
For lunch, Primary Elementary School and Upper Elementary School instructional staff, along with some district staff, gathered in the Upper Elementary cafeteria for a “chili cook-off.” 
Nine staff members made chili for the cook-off. After sampling each, everyone voted for the “best chili.”
While none of the chili disappointed, Mrs. Parzych earned first place by hauling in the most votes for “best chili.” Mr. Polera’s chili came in second and Mrs. Maine’s chili came in third.
Last year, Primary and Upper elementary staff had a “chicken riggies cook-off.”
